About Sharon...
Sharon Gerber began painting 6 years ago and has quickly proven her talent as a watercolor and oil artist. From paintings of flowers and landscapes, to portraits of pets, people and houses, Sharon strives to produce artwork that will bring enjoyment to her collectors for years to come. Previously known as the premier event planner in Sacramento with her company, Six Degreez, Sharon now uses that same sense of whimsy she brought to her stage productions to create paintings with a broad appeal.
Sharon never imagined nor planned on becoming a professional artist. But the world had other plans for her when her skills in realism painting exploded with a fast track of success. Since her first solo show in 2013, she has sold over 600 pieces to collectors, including KFBK
s Kitty O'Neal, former Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, former Sacramento Supervisor Sandy Smoley, Congressman Ami Bera, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh in India,, KVIE’s Rob Stewart and Councilmembers Jay Schenirer, Allen Warren and Steve Hansen to name a few.
In 2013, Sharon was commissioned to create 14 paintings for Ettore’s bakery. In April 2014, Council Member Jay Schenirer commissioned her to paint a picture of the 1903 Oak Park Sign, which now hangs in the Oak Park Community Center. In May 2014, to commemorate Sacramento Rotary’s Centennial Celebration, Sharon was commissioned to paint “Sacramento Skyline.” Then in 2015 Sharon was commissioned by the Cal Athletic Department to paint “Sather Gate” in honor of its 105th anniversary. September 2015, her painting of “The Music Man” was named a finalist in the UArt 2015 Open. In 2016, Sharon's painting of "The Acorn Woodpecker" was accepted, and sold, at the prestigious "Art Where Wild Things Art" exhibit. Additionally, "A Tuscan Town" was accepted into the new Fine Art of Public Television Group Show at The KVIE Gallery and was auctioned off during the KVIE Art Auction in September. And this past summer "Wine Rush" won the Judges Choice for "Race for the Arts" and was featured on the ad, invitation and wine label for this premiere event. Sharon recently completed a commission for the Mark Hopkins Hotel and now two of her portraits hang in the lobby museum of this iconic San Francisco hotel. Sharon had her first international art show in Puerto Vallarta in June 2018.
Community involvement remains a high priority for Sharon, who donates a portion of sales proceeds at each of her art shows. Since 2013, she has raised nearly $40,000 for local nonprofits from her art sales. Sharon is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and lives with her husband, Rob in Puerto Vallarta.
